Next Step

What can I say? Seattle is a wonderful place with wonderful people, who've wonderful ideas and thoughts and pleasures. I am very proud and happy to have been raised, and homegrown here. I came back to Seattle after having went straight to New York with dreams and visions of beginning my acting career in the Big Apple. I had been out of the country for nine years and had grown quite accustomed to not having to look over my shoulder as the people of Tokyo, Japan were respectful, kind and great pacifists. Japan had broadened my horizons far beyond the scope of what I had known, and I loved the people, the sanctuary and peace such a country like Japan had offered me. They loved me and nurtured me and it will always be my home away from home.
Upon arriving in New York, I was very pleased to feel comfortable there as well. It was post 9-11 and the pulse of Manhattan was alive and vibrant with activity and energy. However, since leaving my hometown of Seattle, I had not lived there for close to 20 years and after spending some time thinking about how much I had missed it, and wanting to raise my daughters in a familiar environment, I decided I would begin my adult acting career there in the summer of 2004.
Now here it is 2009, I have acquired my Equity card, met some incredibly, talented performers along the way and with my part time job and off-work activities had a terrific time working and dealing with all types of interesting people in and all around Seattle. I have had the opportunity to explore the craft of acting and develop my singing, movement and dramatic chops. There are far too many people for me to mention here and I'm afraid I would leave someone out but you know who you are, don't you?
I am now heading south to Hollywood. I am ready for the next step of our plan in order to further my career in the entertainment business. I will remain here in Seattle until March of next year and of course continue to develop with the aid of workshops and any other work or potential experience that comes my way. I am an actor after all, and we do what we must do whenever the chance presents itself.
What I really wanted to accomplish with this entry today is just thank each and every heart I've been blessed to encounter over the past 20 years. I love you. Thank you for having me, tolerating me, developing me, chastising me, correcting me, loving me, and most importantly to me...listening to me. I will always value and treasure your care and you must know you will always be in my heart.
Till we meet, stay with me on this journey as you continue to make your own way. May you and I remain in His loving arms my friends, colleagues, co-workers, activists, and friends. Be well~live to tell...
I'll be back for more so keep checking my blog but for now. Thank you~G
